Suvisoitto [Summer music] by Usko Meriläinen is a duet for grasshoppers and flute, while Stonework by Sebastian Fagerlund explores the nature of stone. The premiere work by Matilda Seppälä is expected to be a spectacular demolition of hyper-individualism, tearing down social norms and established hierarchies. The touching Requiem by Markku Klami is a violin concerto but also a personal process of mourning and a haven for hope, a memorial to a life that never began. The concert concludes with a sizzling and popping display of pyrotechnics by Agata Zubel.

The concert lasts about two hours. In the interval, the audience is kindly invited to the Winter Garden, where photographer Maarit Kytöharju introduces her exhibition Professional composer.
